Clover Blue is a First Nations artist, playing slightly harrowing alt-folk, grounded in abstracted poetics and supported by a motley crew of talented friends. They present introspective, and intense folk rock songs to spin life-based narratives through abstract lenses. With writing often grounded in poetry, Blue aims to craft poignant music that drums emotion in the gut of the listener.
After a lengthy period in the musical wilderness, Faxman returns with an album load of unreleased songs brought to life by his new band, the Crackpot Ensemble. Expert purveyors of cowboy jazz - a messy collage of growling blues, Romani jazz and desert-soaked country, think Marty Robbins and Dr John lost in a mangrove swamp - Faxman’s Crackpot Ensemble are dusting off their instruments in preparation for their first gig back in the saddle at Nighthawks on March 27th.
