At its core, Shacked! is about balance. The balance between huge apsycheliptic riffage and uplifting power ballads; tight, kinetec bursts and sludgy, layered textures; evil grooves and righteous dissonance. They're balancing two negatives to make a positive, to the top to be imperative and too original to be derivate. Between hours on the worksite and days on the water, they find themselves spread symmetrically across the stage. Balancing subtle inside jokes and blinding green outfits, like finding your footing on your board before getting pummelled by a shorie. This is Shacked!

Seamus McCorry & The Televised Mind return with their first single and headline show for 2024. They’ll be celebrating the release of ‘Drifting’, the first of a batch of releases this year.

With a sound drenched in a combination of Brit-Pop and Australiana, Seamus McCorry & The Televised Mind take their place as a leader in the Australian story-telling tradition. In their short time together, they have already made an impact on Melbourne’s live music scene. They’ve supported the likes of The Delta Riggs and Reece Mastin at their respective headline shows, and played festivals alongside Ash Grunwald, Angie McMahon, Baker Boy and Art Vs. Science.

Seamus McCorry & The Televised Mind are lucky enough to have Olympic White opening the night with their blend of nostalgic alt-rock. Olympic White released their sophomore record in September 2023 entitled ‘Ain’t That Living’ and are regulars in Melbourne’s music scene.

May 9th, Melbourne/Naarm rapper and producer, Simo Soo launches new single, ‘Sweet Dreams’ at Nighthawks in Collingwood. This will be the first new solo work from the artist since 2022’s ‘plz keep this between me + u hehe xx’ LP.

Whereas the industrial noise of ‘plz keep this…’ dealt with the grief of losing a dear friend, ‘Sweet Dreams’ the first single from their forthcoming yet-to-be-titled 2024 album, is a downright sunny affair. Marrying the artist’s love of boundary pushing hip hop and club music with a breezy shot of city pop and early 00’s r&b.

Your favourite all trans femme post punk band Dubhessa are gracing Nighthawks to release their first single - Sicko, as well as tracks from the upcoming album SOLACE.

Dubhessa sounds like Deftones and PJ Harvey's bratty hypersexual lovechild. Sicko is a ballad to giving up on giving a fuck and is a perfect primer to their upcoming album release.

This is also their drummer Lulu's last gig — so this show will be your last chance to see Dubhessa in their original lineup.

This is their last show before releasing their single “Teeth”, recorded with producer Angus Leslie (Sex On Toast, Umlaut, Electric Self). For this show Petite are supported by April Guest, who makes both ambient music under her own name as well as under the moniker Byte Crusher, as well as Iz Butcher, best known for her work in bands Oh Daisy and Carlottia.

Since the release of 'Tower' in 2022, Leonardo's Robot has expanded from a self-contained, self-replicating series of renegade concept-nodules into a vast subterranean synthetic audio-mycelial network represented by six 'fleshies', whose job it is to take the waste product of this entity - pre-apocalyptic, punk-tinged experimental indie music - and dispose of it into the ears of Melbourne's human populace. 2024 finds them handling the disposal of a new album, 'Sadbrains' - weird, disparate, uncharacteristically sincere stuff.

They're joined by Ze Wisenheimer - "Too crazy for Boytown, too much of a boy for Crazytown", loud, tight, infectious post-punk - and Forrer Band - hyper-refined songwriting instincts with Melbourne's best-kept vocal secret.

Liam Watts and his orchestra of loud fuzzed out guitars filters through brilliantly crafted and catchy pop songs. Reminiscent of 60's and 70's glam with twists of 90's artsy aggression, he pulls inspiration from a plethora of sources.
His 2020 release thought sails tore speakers apart with crunchy drums engulfed by distorted bass and guitar soundscapes, topped with vulnerable and soft spoken vocals.

Watts's live show brings the recorded songs to life in their most energetic form. In a classic power trio fashion, Liam Watts is backed by seasoned Naarm musicians Jacob Todarello and Will Taylor. The show merges heavy rock with slight glimmers of jazz, prog and folk for a dynamic and gripping spectacle.

World Builder is a London based label putting on many different types of workshops and events, bringing together both musicians and filmmakers to celebrate their work.
