Tesse 'Dead Night Drive' Album Launch

Join Tesse (the musical project of Sydney/Eora songwriter Tom Stephens) as he launches his third album, Dead Night Drive, at Nighthawks, Collingwood.
Supporting on the night are alt/folk artist Grace Turner and self produced singer/songwriter Mark Churchill.

Music from 8pm
Capacity limited 18+
Tickets via Humanitix - $15 + bf / $20 on the door

TESSE

Tesse is the musical project of Sydney songwriter Tom Stephens. Taking a hands-on, all-in approach, Tom writes, plays, and records much of the music himself. His first two albums, How It All Unfolds (2018) and Everything Trying (2021), introduced a cinematic yet understated style, rooted in quiet observation and restraint. With his third album, Dead Night Drive, that vision comes into sharper focus, drawing listeners into a twilight world of reflection, endurance, and fragile beauty.

GRACE TURNER

Grace Turner, a singer songwriter from the industrial town of Newcastle, Australia is renown for her emotionally-driven indie-folk songs, which are intensely personal. Turner has lived immersed with creative influences; her mother a visual artist and her father a poet. Falling somewhere between alt country and indie rock, Turner entices exciting possibility with her song writing and sound.

MARK CHURCHILL

Mark Churchill is an Australian self produced singer-songwriter, and recording artist. Mark is from Goulburn, New South Wales, and currently resides in Melbourne, Victoria.

LEXI HERBERT, BEAT MAGAZINE

BERNADETTE NOVEMBRE BIO
Born and bred in Melbourne, Australia Bernadette had an early start in music and began singing professionally at the age of only six. Touring with international artists from six to 12 years old, Bernadette is heavily influenced by French and Italian artists of the 1960's such as Françoise Hardy, Dalida and Mina.

In 2017 Bernadette began to entrench herself in the Melbourne music scene and started singing again and songwriting. This resulted in the release of a critically acclaimed Soul EP 'Rebounding' which was co-written and produced by Ryan Ritchie (True Live, The Raah Project). Radio stations across the country and internationally played Bernadette’s songs which translated into a loyal following around the world and her participation in numerous gigs and festivals. The first single off this EP, 'Everybody Knows' is soon to be featured in a new major series on Paramount + and Netflix called 'Futuro Desierto'.

Almost four years ago, Bernadette met the creative genius Joshua Moriarty (Telenova, Miami Horror, All The Colours) who agreed to co-write and produce Bernadette’s debut Album. Bernadette always knew that she wanted to make an Indie Rock album, having been inspired by her favourite 1960’s artists The Beatles, George Harrison, The Doors, The Kinks, The Zombies, The Animals, Janis Joplin, The Mamas and The Papas, Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Electric Light Orchestra, The Beach Boys, Dusty Springfield and her modern-day idols the Arctic Monkeys, Saint Motel, Tempesst, Beach House, Lana del Rey, Florence and The Machine, The Vaccines, Babyshambles, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis, PJ Harvey, Queens of The Stone Age, Chrissie Hynde and Alexandra Savior. A surrealist at heart, Bernadette’s new music has been described as ‘Avant-Indie Alt Rock on the dreamscape’ due to the dreamlike quality of her lyrics and melodies. With the new Album, Bernadette also aspires to create a polyptych in the form of four music videos to metaphorically paint the picture of the songs’ transcendent meanings. Her debut Album is expected to be released in 2026.

Bernadette has achieved so much in the eight years she has been back in the music scene. A highlight of Bernadette’s career thus far includes playing support to members of The Rolling Stones. The first single off Bernadette’s debut Album, 'Another View from Dystopia' debuted at #5 on the AMRAP Metro Charts in its very first week. The music video for this song and 'Into the Now' (unreleased song on the forthcoming Album) made it to the semi-final of the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in March 2025.

THE CHEVALIERS BIO
"Quirky and fun as it is unique and revolutionary, The Chevaliers' sound is the shot in the arm rock 'n' roll needs!"

Formed in the finest dive bars, The Chevaliers bring together an incendiary blend of influences that culminate in a wild and unique brand of good-time party rock 'n' roll. The band's melodic, guitar-driven sound has seen them garner rave reviews and jam-packed dance floors far and wide.

This is Hanoi Rocks, meets Van Halen, meets Cheap Trick.

EATEN ALIVE - NUTA MANTIS with Street Carp and Care

Show bio - Eaten Alive is a night built for loud riffs, sweat, and real energy. Capital Noise is bringing together some of the sharpest underground acts for a show that hits hard from the first chord to the last. No polish, no bullshit — just heavy music, packed rooms, and bands who give everything on stage. Loud, messy, and real.

NUTA MANTIS - Nuta Mantis is a five-piece band from Australia built on high-energy shows, fast riffs, and real emotion. Playing together not just as bandmates but as close friends, they bring a raw chemistry to every stage. Their sound hits hard, but it’s the lyrics — often heavy, personal, and emotionally charged — that give their music its backbone. Known for chaotic live sets and tight musicianship, Nuta Mantis deliver loud, honest music that connects deeply with anyone willing to listen.

CARE - care is jangly lesbian indie rock with midwest emo guitars

STREET CARP - STREET CARP is a slacker/alternative rock band from North East Victoria. Influenced by the elusive songwriting of Jeff Buckley, as well as the punch and heaviness of bands like Title Fight, First Day Back, and Deftones, STREET CARP makes it their mission to create and play epic music. Playing as a trio for this show instead of their usual
4-piece lineup, STREET CARP will play through their newly recorded material, ahead of the release of their debut album.

PRIVATE WIVES - THREE OF SWORDS Album Tour with Baby Mullet and Property

Private Wives are a ferocious all-girl punk band from Wollongong, armed with grit, heart, and a sound that cuts straight to the bone. Loud, raw, and unapologetically real, their music collides snarling guitars, pounding drums, and vocals that bleed honesty. With every show, they bring chaos and catharsis in equal measure:  a voice for anyone who’s ever felt overlooked, underestimated, or pushed aside.

Now, following the release of their debut album THREE OF SWORDS, Private Wives take their defiant energy on the road for their East Coast Album Tour 2026. Named after the tarot card of heartbreak and revelation, THREE OF SWORDS transforms pain into power, a story of wounds, survival, and reclamation told through ten blistering tracks including the singles “Heartlines,” “The Fool,” and “Haymaker.” From Wollongong to Brisbane and beyond, these shows promise the full force of Private Wives: raw emotion, righteous fury, and the unbreakable sound of women who refuse to stay quiet.
