Three somewhat synthy bands tickling plastic till the break of evening.
The Motifs are a Melbourne, Australia-based musical project, primarily fronted by Alexis Hall, active since 2003. Starting as a solo project, Hall creats warm, indie-pop music featuring lush, hushed vocals over instrumental arrangements of acoustic guitars, drum machines, and Casio keyboards. The music combines beautiful, often melancholy lyrics with sophisticated instrumental work, creating a unique and enchanting sound that has earned them a significant listener base.
Exosquelette are a French-Australian Indie Pop band. They play with "toy instruments" such as Casiotone-synths, ukulele and glockenspiel. Tempo Music blog described our first single release as “fast, fun and it’s full of joyous pop melodies” They mix French and Australian language, like a croissant filled with BBQ shapes.
Denim Owl is a Melbourne-based sophisticated-pop band formed around the music project of Janita Foley. The five-piece group, including Joe Foley, Irit Rozenfeld, Jill Farrar, and Stephanie Hooke, create "handmade tunes scuffed up by unapologetically long instrumental-wig-outs". Their music is a blend of delicate, experimental dream pop with extended instrumental sections, often leading to "sick wig-out jams" on stage.
