CLUTCH 3

Clutch 3 - Browning Mummery 'Obiter Scripta' 40th Anniversary Show

A Harmony Syndicate Production.

To commemorate its 40th anniversary, Queensland’s Browning Mummery will be presenting his 1984 classic, ‘Obiter Scripta’ in its entirety through a modern variation. The work, originally released on cassette on Boxmusik cemented itself as a paragon of the Australian post industrial underground. Having seen multiple reissues since its debut, Tesco Archaic Documents initiated a vinyl pressing in 2016 bringing the cult classic to a wider audience. Seeing a commemorative performance and recording to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2013, this performance will see the album further updated presented with even greater clarity and precision.

The night will see a debut live performance from Victoria’s Sun Vessel hailing from Gippsland. Having recently issued his sophomore 2024 full length ‘ A Seed Fallen To Earth’ on Gladivs Records (France), Sun Vessel will be presenting new material in an inaugural performance for Clutch. His style encapsulates a modern take on the neofolk genre with clear linear roots to its predeceasing heritage and antecedents.

Hailing from South Australia, Divine Severance label boss Bloated Data will deliver a gruelling, cacophonous uproar, stylistically akin to the prolific US harsh noise and power electronics crossover of the 1990s. Devine Severance has seen a number of successful releases over the past 3 years from both local and international artists in a variety of styles pertaining to the darker strains of the electronic underground.

Local duo Sulphur Garden, having recently performed at the high successful 'Norla Drone Series #4' show, curated by Janus Tapes, will display a mix of synth and bass driven atmospherics alongside dual contrasting vocal performances by both members. Their performance at Norla Dome showcased their expertise in set progression, sound application and performance methodology. Not to be missed!
