Melbourne/Naarm alt-rock sweethearts Damaged Goods Club are thrilled to launch their upcoming single “Take Me Home” at Nighthawks on July 6, supported by special guests Le Bongé, Baby Shower & Dear Thieves.
Damaged Goods Club's heart-wrenching new single “Take Me Home” (out July 2) is a raw, vulnerable song about the power of love and live music. Telling the love story of two of the band's key members, Kelsie and Darcy – from falling in love at a gig, to starting a band and playing gigs of their own, to getting married and everything in between – Take Me Home has been a beloved staple in the band's live set for years.
In addition to the song’s sentimental value, Take Me Home is also a love letter to the Australian music scene. Live music is under threat in Australia: festivals are being canceled, live music venues are closing down, and bands are finding it harder and harder to get people to shows. This is a love song, but it's also a crucial call-to-action: get your friends together, get to a show, and keep live music alive in Australia.
