@the_pokies_ are a stripped back dark-folk duo based around the songwriting partnership of Jack Beesley (The Cavemen/Sin City) and Sharni Paris (Doe St/Hogwash). The project grew out of several late night jam sessions in which the couple channeled their shared love of Dead Moon, Roky Erickson and the bleakest cuts of early 20th century blues and folk records. The Pokies blend this mix of garage-punk and folk balladry into an intense and intimate live show.
