SHOW BIO

"Melancholy, yet hopeful" is one way to describe DUEL NATIVE - a four-piece ensemble that first shared their indie-rock anthem 'Sacrosanct' in 2021. This community radio favourite, was followed by some untraditional folk and light orchestra in their debut extended play 'XI', and since then, their three latest singles (published by UK indie label, The Animal Farm) explored dream pop. Whatever the genre, the band are known for curating audience-led unexpected twists in their live shows.

Comprising guitarist Leong Chan, violinist Erin Tidswell, and bassist Fleur Blum, DUEL NATIVE is led by Stephen Choi – an artist passionate about music, architecture, and environmental science. His work has been shared on stage with acts such as The Libertines, been presented in live-theatre format, and covered on MTV Europe.

DUEL NATIVE are privileged to be supported by the New Zealand-born singer-songwriter, Alana Zivanovic, who brings home-baked Alt-Country Soul to the Melbourne stage, on the back of international credits that include her support of numerous recording artists including Sir Cliff Richard, Rod Stewart, John Farnham, and the B*52's.

The performers in this show are grateful to make music on the unceded lands of the Kulin Nation, in so-called Melbourne.
