Being a frontwoman of one of the most successful Croatian post-punk bands Punčke, Lucija Ivšić is no stranger to the music scene.

Her new bilingual music project ŽIVA establishes her as an Melbourne-based artist firmly rooted in Slavic heritage while fearlessly pushing the boundaries by combining elements of Slavic-pop, trip-hop, darkwave, and R&B.

Equipped with only a small audio interface, keyboard, microphone, and laptop, ŽIVA performs her original music live on stage and creates a dark and unique mix bound to get you dancing. Building on her heritage from the Croatian region of Slavonija, Lucija’s new appearance as ŽIVA aims to blend modern sounds with the ones reflecting her hometown of Vinkovci and the culture she grew up in.

Being raised in the fertile and green lands of the country, symbolically, the name itself translates as “being alive” while also representing the poisonous chemical element mercury.
