Going Swimming are veterans of the once mighty surf sounds that ruled the inner suburbs of the ever dark and gloomy city of Melbourne (Naarm). While the physical act of surfing has never entered the lives of any of these four young men, their work over the years has produced the sort of twangy punk and rather dirty coastal sounds that would almost have you believing they grew up by the water, if that water was the murky Merri Creek, and the waves were indeed rippling.
Enter the dark upstairs room at Nighthawks on Friday, January 20 to see what will be Going Swimming's first headline show in almost a year.
Joining them on the night are the supremely impressive new wave/synth poppers Shock Friendly and the glorious post punk noise of RQTBL.
