Year's End Rock Celebration

  • Nighthawks Bar 136 Johnston St Collingwood Australia (map)

Celebrate the coming end of 2026 with some of Melbourne's heaviest and most energetic up and coming rock bands. Featuring Dylan Cosgriff + The Omens, Pomp Art, Bad Jelly and Deep Majestic Thunder.

A singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and belter of a performer, Dylan Cosgriff is simply a born musician. Starting drums at age four, and later picking up guitar, bass, piano, vocals, tuned percussion, and even ukulele, it's no surprise the musician captivates every audience they're in front of. Cosgriff released their debut album 'Tailing Navisag' at age 17, writing, recording, mixing, and releasing the album completely independently. After relocating to Melbourne, Australia, they continued their spree of releasing, unveiling 'Lyélum's Lake,' 'Grindhead,' 'Weak And Pathetic,' and their biggest single to date, 'Cherry Socks.' After graduating from the Australian Institute of Music, majoring on drums, Cosgriff continued to perform their completely unhinged and chaotic live show with their incredible backing band The Omens, completing the live band Dylan Cosgriff And The Omens. In 2026, Cosgriff began teasing their sophomore album 'Develop,' rolling out singles 'Parasomnias,' 'Simple Waitress,' 'The Rat Trap,’ and ‘Don’t Scream.’ Energetic, high-octane, and impossible to forget, Cosgriff's live shows, both solo and with The Omens, are something to behold. Blending alternative rock and metal with tones of dark pop, Dylan Cosgriff perfectly summates what it means to be a modern artist in this musical climate.

Pomp Art fuses the glittery velvet glamour of the theatre with the emotive power of hard rock. Bringing danceable grooves, thundering riffs, and tender ballads, their songs take the theatre geeks, old souls, and outcasts on an honest and raw journey. Through stories of heartbreak, self-discovery, and resilience. Fresh off releasing their first single Earthbound, playing for Displaced Records and supporting Prannay & Co, Pomp Art are just getting started.

From the storm of sound and spirit emerges Deep Majestic Thunder — a genre-bending force where psychedelic funk, metal power, and mystic groove collide. Blending thunderous riffs, hypnotic basslines, and primal rhythm with raw, electrifying vocals, the band channels the ecstatic energy of rock’s golden age through a modern, apocalyptic lens.

Five-piece grunge band Bad Jelly are hoping to bring that raw, heavy-riffing grunge sound that has been missing for a long time. Alex and Ty’s guitars mesh perfectly, Adam keeps everyone grounded and delivers a grossly tone, Alec provides the steady hand on drums and Mike’s voice aches of raw vulnerability.
